What do you enjoy most about wealth management?
There are a lot of people who are motived by making money. I’m more motivated by making a difference in people’s lives. This career gives you the chance to serve people and provide them with peace of mind.
What do you love most about being part of Hart Financial Group?
There isn’t a prospect or client that’s too big. I say that in a humble way – I’m just blessed to work with a team who is really good at what they do.
What qualities of yours makes you well suited for your career?
Most people don’t have a good grasp on investing or estate planning because it can be complicated. I enjoy taking complex situations and communicating in a way that the client understands and can relate to.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?
I love playing with my boys. It gives me a chance to relive all the fun experiences I had as a child. I like collecting wine, playing golf, photography, traveling to places off the beaten path, fly fishing, hunting, military movies, cooking, spending time with my wife, and Jesus.
If you had to choose another career what would you do?
I would work for Lonely Planet traveling around the world exploring new places to eat, places to stay, and experiences for travelers looking to visit a specific place.
What’s one experience you wish you could do all over again?
In 2010, I took a trip to South East Asia with my best friend. We traveled together in Thailand for two weeks before he had to get home to his job. I stayed another two weeks and traveled alone to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
If you could live anywhere besides Austin, where would you live and why?
New Zealand – everywhere you look is a postcard picture. Not to mention, great trout fishing, skiing, and vineyards.
